Meet Rohani Foulkes
Neighbor X Folk was founded by Rohani Foulkes, a passionate food, retail, and community builder dedicated to creating spaces that bring people together. With deep roots in Detroit and a love for thoughtful, people-centered design, Rohani has shaped NxF to be more than just a shop or gathering place—it’s a reflection of her belief that hospitality, creativity, and inclusivity can transform how we connect with one another. Her vision is grounded in the idea that every person who walks through the door feels valued, seen, and part of something special.

Michigan Central Station
Neighbor X Folk is proud to be part of the next chapter of The Station at Michigan Central, a landmark that has long symbolized Detroit’s resilience and creativity. Once the city’s grand gateway, Michigan Central Station welcomed thousands of travelers daily before closing in 1988. After decades of vacancy, the historic building has been restored by Ford Motor Company as the centerpiece of a 30-acre innovation hub—bringing together technology, culture, and community. Within this reimagined space, Neighbor X Folk offers a modern retail and event destination rooted in connection. We curate thoughtful gifts and goods that celebrate craftsmanship, people, and place, while also hosting gatherings that bring neighbors, visitors, and partners together. Our work is grounded in storytelling—honoring Detroit’s past, engaging with its present, and helping shape its future through experiences that inspire and connect.
